My friend will have to migrate to Hungary in a month or so. Not really sure what place he's heading, most probably Budapest I guess. He's offered a gross monthly salary of 790,000 HUF. What would be the approximate Net Income after taxes and other deductions? Is it true that the tax is almost 45%? Also would appreciate if anyone help me by providing a quick rounded figure for the following: Monthly rent for a decent house in a decent place - Monthly Food Expense with a visit to the restaurent once a week - Monthly Mobile phone expense - Monthly Landline phone expense - Monthly Internet broadband expense - Monthly Utility Expense - Visit to pub twice a month - Visit to other European countries once in 3 mths - Will this salary be enough to meet all these expense and yet have a monthly savings of $1490 ? (He's a nice person by heart, $10 for any beggars if he find them on streets) Please let me know your thoughts.

Yes, it`s true the income tax is 45%! flat: the price depends on where the apartment is... totaly different prices are! Budapest is the best place for living! Buda is more exensive then Pest! In Buda you can find aprtemnt from 170.000 HUF upto `sky-high` price! Pest 130.000 HUF around. Restaurant (good quality): could be 8 -10.000 HUF/person Mobile service: it depends on... how much do you use.. only outgoing phonecalls counts! I think I am not sure but aprox. the minimum is 10.000 HUF/month think it would be possible to save 1500$/month but i would say in the begining 1000$ would be nice! If you need any help i can help you to find an apartment!
