In Hungary, the really nice place to visit and to see a lot of different things is Budapest, the capital. Briges over Danube river, the Parliament building, caves etc, and lake Balaton outside the capital. try some good wine and pastery. weather is hot in the summer.

Weather in the summer: very hot, with occasional showers which come all of a sudden, make you get soaked to the skin, and are gone in ten minutes. But hot and sunny most of the time - with modern buildings getting really sultry inside (old ones were built with thick walls and are a real oasis for those who live in them). You need to drink plenty of liquid during the summer (preferably mineral water which you can buy on every corner). I agree that Budapest is a good place to visit with lots of tourist attractions (the Royal Palace, Baroque churches, the Parliament, St Stephen's Basilica, the Synagogue in Dohány Street in the Jewish quarter, the Turkish baths, Belle Époque baths, Belle Époque coffee houses, the City Park with the zoo, the Opera House, Margaret Island which is on the Danube in between the Buda and the Pest side of Budapest, Gellért Hill for the view, the Children's Railway - beautiful route in the Buda Hills, and many more). Of course, there is plenty to see in the country too, Lake Balaton is beautiful and lots of young people go for bicycle tours around it, sleeping in tents or at cheap Bed and Breakfast places. Tihany (a peninsula on Lake Balaton) is a charming place with the abbey and the abbey church on top of a hill overlooking the lake. Or on the southern shore you can visit the town of Keszthely, with the country mansion of the Festetics dukes, which is just awesome (an amazing building with those big staircases, an elegant and really large library, etc. with beautifully kept grounds). Fun: Well, in Budapest I'd recommend the Turkish baths, going to the Castle Hill at night and looking down at the illuminated city, especially the Chain Bridge, checking out the coffee houses in the city centre, going to a choir / classical music concert in one of the small churches, restaurants, etc. You can find lisitings of events here: http://www.talkingcities.co.uk/budapest_pages/entertainment_events.htm Have a good time!

its a very nice country here in Hungary. you can visit the Balaton in the summer its nice. the weather here is hot in the summer. its a muggy hot. so its always good to be near the water to swim
